Keel, thank you for writing this column. White supremacy is running amok in this country and now in Nashville. No doubt that some of those arrested and spirited away are hard working, law abiding individuals who are here legally—but will we ever know, since no information has been provided about them? A few decades ago, Gaylord was legally busing in workers from the border to work at Opryland Hotel because they couldn’t find enough workers here. This will once again become an issue in the hospitality business if people, because of their skin color, are targeted for arrest, despite whether or not they are law abiding and are not provided due process. Nashville’s economy heavily depends upon tourism, but that will go down the drain if the hospitality business is lacking in workers. Have Governor Lee and Republican legislators even thought about how our city’s economy and that of the state will be impacted or are they too eager to bow at the feet of President Trump? Yes, let’s get criminals off our streets, but not hard working, law abiding individuals who are assets to our communities.

Thanks, Sandy. Your comment about Nashville’s hospitality economy (and Tennessee’s) is valid concern. The dragnet w/o due process has many implications!

Thanks Keel Your Editorial asks all the right questions. Unfortunately those responsible aren’t likely to answer honestly. But we must continue to Resist and hold our Elected responsible for the lack of any Judicial Review of these “disappearances”. Isn’t it amazing that Congressman Andy Ogles wants to investigate Mayor Freddie O’Connell for hampering ICE activities in his city, while not questioning Governor Bill Lee’s and ICE’s illegal activities at the political bequest of the Orange Monster. Extremely disturbing. Thank You for standing-up for Truth, Justice and The Real American Way!

Keel, so sorry I've been tied up with my 92 yr old mom. She fell and broke her wrist on Easter Sunday afternoon. Your articles have been right on the money! Thank you for continuing to post all the evils that the rest of us are thinking. It makes me physically sick and intellectually tired to see all the lack of constitutional laws being broken, like, due process! A very basic rule.

Diane, thanks for this note. I am sorry for what you and Mom have been going through. My best wishes to her, and to you as a caregiver. Your comment about “sick and intellectually tired” is one I’m hearing from lots of our friends these days. There’s so much damage coming from this Wrecking-Ball administration on so many fronts that it’s exhausting for us all. But for now we can find strength in each other.

It is sad. Will the public be given a list of the crimes committed by these people?

Good question. It hasn’t been given so far.
