Real Patriotism
No finer example
It was 25 years ago today that Al Gore gave his deeply impressive concession speech after the 2000 election, following the Bush v. Gore decision of the Supreme Court that permitted no recount-count of the vote in Florida, and all that.
Have a look at this timely link. Read Gore’s remarks from that day, and remember with me what real patriotism meant for us in that day. Reflect with me, too, on what has been lost in our nation’s public realm in the past the quarter-century that followed, especially over this most recent decade, especially in these past eleven months of 2025.

Keel, thank you for sharing Al Gore’s patriotic speech! Sadly, his following remarks are no longer true….& there is only ONE person to blame. He gets 100% credit for “making America hate again”.

Only 25 years, when it seems an eternity ago in some ways, that we had leaders with such integrity and intelligence who would always travel the high road. Thank.you, Keel, for this reminder.
