Great article, terrific title! What on earth is the matter with us that we keep electing these dunderheaded politicians in Tennessee at every single level?
What a great link. Growing up in Harriman, as a kid traveling to Chattanooga with teens, when we passed trough Dayton they would roll down the windows and shout "Monkey Town." When I asked them why they really didn't know, other than that's what everyone did. I guess they might have been aspiring members of the TN General Assembly. Thank you Koch brothers.
Governor Frank Clement once noted that the TN legislature is required to meet 90 days every two years, and he said it ought to be for two days every 90 years. I think he was onto something.
A subject worth discussing. However, you only provided one side. What is the subject matter which the state is rejecting? What information about race & racial history will be taught in the grade levels? What is the lesson plan? What resources will be used in the classrooms?

Our legislators want our kids to grow up just as smart as they is.
Incredible! I support two week biennial legislative sessions.

I agree completely!
Where is Clarence Darrow at this hour? Hell, even Spencer Tracy?
Keel: A shoddy example of journalism. Your political writings are thru the vision of a cyclope. However, this is your norm.

The lesson plan just might be based on the truth.
Some folk call it Hard History.
I like the truth.Provide the curriculum. As a teacher, I like to have the subject matter.
